Upcycling a old Arm chair

I had this Armchair for years so comfortable a recliner, but having a toddler and through wear, it was starting to look Shabby, It needed a good clean so I began by Mixing fabric conditioner (that smelled lovely) with water and washing up liquid and began to clean. Next I got some spray fabric paint I then spayed with all colours, to create a tie-dye effect. This is the end result I am very pleased.

Textiles, inspired by leafs.

I used transfer paint, pink, purple, blue, and sponged it on a large card. using the same process of using transfer paint but in green, i painted the leaves on the side of the veins of the leafs.

Through the storm Fashion collection.

For my HND In Fashion and textiles, ♥ My fashion tutor told us to free flow write words. Just anything that pops into our head to write down random words. After we chose five that we felt most drawn to. Then researched intensely on the five. I chose holidays and rainbows. Russian culture. Tropical. And sailing. The strongest that stood out for me in terms of research, experimentation and design were Russian culture and tropical. And finally tropical. Which I then changed into tropical storms as I was very interested in the shapes and colours of intense storms. Including hurricanes and tornadoes. And also loved the shapes and colours of the aqua satellite produced when picturing a tropical storm. The pinks and reds and yellows blue and green. I am now in the process of experimenting with ideas I have. I will also soon post all of mine. Pre designs.

A vintage coat transformed into a vintage suit.

After dying the jacket black, I used a skirt block and a bodice block to cut out the shape of the skirt and jacket, I then added a fur trim around the collar. I then decided to add fur to the bottom of the skirt too. The original vintage coat was dyed black and transformed into an exciting vintage suit. I experimented with the skirt, first putting the fur on top of the skirt.  The end result.

Using transfer paints and leafs for a beautiful design

I first picked some wonderful leaves, and used heat Transfer paint to cover the leaves in a green colour. I used this great transfer paint, I then began to dab pink transfer paint onto card I used purple and blue transfer paint, to create more colour. I used a dress i like, and placed on top of white stretchy material, that has the same elasticity as the dress. I cut around the dress making sure i leave a 2cm, seam allowance around the edges. I placed the printed leaves on top of the cut out fabric, i then laid the painted card on top of this, and pressed down the heat press, once hot enough, ready to print. The end result.
